Horkestar rounded off celebrations of its fifteenth anniversary with a concert at Belgrade’s Dom Omladine youth cwentre, where they were accompanied by colleagues and choirs who have marked their career through different periods.
Horkestar adapts easily to new situations, without modifying its original positions and concept. Horkestar has retained the Horkeškark part of its repertoire, which consists of revolutionary and workers’ songs, songs composed to the verses of local poets (Vaško Popa, Vinaver Stanislav, Duško Radović), cover versions of new wave bands (Šarlo akrobata, Paraf, Dobri Isak), the addition of songs composed to the texts of thinkers (Dr. Protić, Milena Marković, Ivan Glišić), as well as songs authored by choir members. Horkestar also performs in concert halls and in places where choirs don’t usually performs – streets, squares, markets, orphanages, public transport, parks. Horkestar was also the initiator of the Choir festival “Everyone in Voice”.
On Saturday, February 6th February, at the Americana Hall, Horkestar will perform with friends in Dom Omladina’s Americana Hall on 6th February, with this concert representing a kind of mini-festival of alternative bands and choirs.
